Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, via the Transparency dropdown — the options are No transparency, 75%, 50%, and 25%. The percentage sets how opaque the mark is, so 25% gives the faintest, most see-through watermark, not 75%.
Yes. Use the "From page / To page" option to apply the watermark to a specific range rather than the entire document.
Yes. Switch to the Image tab in the options panel to upload a logo or image watermark (PNG with transparency works best).
You can choose from 9 positions: top/middle/bottom × left/center/right. The dot preview on the page thumbnails shows exactly where it will land.

About Watermark PDF

You can stamp either text or an image onto your pages — a tab switcher at the top of the options panel toggles between the two. Text watermarks give you a font family (Arial, Times, or Courier), size, bold/italic, and a color picker; image watermarks accept a PNG or JPEG upload, with a transparent PNG recommended so there's no white box around a logo. Position is picked from a 9-point grid (top/middle/bottom × left/center/right), and there's a "Mosaic" checkbox that tiles the mark in a repeating grid across the whole page instead of placing it once.

The "Transparency" dropdown is worth understanding before you use it: the options are No transparency, 75%, 50%, and 25%, and the percentage you pick sets how opaque the watermark is — not how see-through it is. That means 75% gives you a fairly solid, dark watermark, while 25% gives you the faintest, most see-through one — the opposite of what the label might suggest at first glance. Rotation is a fixed dropdown too (0°, 45°, -45°, 30°, or 90°), not a free-form angle. A "From/To page" range lets you restrict the watermark to part of the document instead of every page.

Key Features

  • Text watermarks: font family, size, bold/italic, and custom color
  • Image watermarks: upload a PNG or JPEG, transparent PNG recommended for logos
  • 9 placement positions on a visual grid, plus a Mosaic mode that tiles the mark across the page
  • Transparency dropdown with 4 levels (No transparency / 75% / 50% / 25%) — higher % means more solid, not more see-through
  • From/To page range to apply the watermark to part of the document instead of all of it

Tips for Best Results

  • 1 Want a subtle, barely-there watermark? Pick 25% on the Transparency dropdown — that's the faintest setting, even though the number looks low.
  • 2 For a classic diagonal "CONFIDENTIAL" stamp, use 45° rotation, a center position, and the 50% transparency setting to stay readable without overwhelming the page.
  • 3 Use a transparent PNG (with an alpha channel) for image watermarks so you don't get a white background box around your logo.
  • 4 Combine watermarking with Protect PDF afterward if you also want to restrict copying or editing of the watermarked file.
