About Sign PDF
Electronic signatures added to PDF documents are legally binding in most jurisdictions under frameworks including the eIDAS Regulation (European Union), the ESIGN Act and UETA (United States), PIPEDA (Canada), and Electronic Transactions Acts in Australia and many other countries. Our Sign PDF tool lets you draw your signature using a mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen stylus, or type your name in a handwriting-style font instead — either way it shows up immediately on a live preview of your actual PDF page, not a generic placeholder.
Every signature you add is a fully interactive object: drag it to move, use the corner handles to resize, and the top handle to rotate it, positioned exactly where you want rather than snapped to a fixed grid. You are not limited to one signature — click "+ Add Signature" to compose another, each with its own placement and its own scope of "this page only" or "all pages." That makes it easy to handle documents that need initials on every page plus a full signature on the final page, or completely separate signatures from different signers on different pages, all in a single pass.
Key Features
- Draw signature with a mouse, touchscreen, or stylus, or type your name in a handwriting-style font
- Live page preview — see and position your signature on the actual PDF page, not a placeholder
- Drag to move, corner handles to resize, and the top handle to rotate — full freeform placement
- Add multiple signatures, each with independent placement, size, rotation, and page scope
- Apply each signature to a specific page or to every page — mix both in the same document
- High-resolution PNG rendering — signatures remain sharp at any zoom level
Tips for Best Results
- 1 Draw your signature on a touchscreen with a stylus for the most natural, legally convincing result.
- 2 For documents needing initials on every page plus a signature on the last one, add one signature set to "All pages" and a second set to "This page only" on the final page.
- 3 Use the "Signatures added" list in the panel to jump back to any signature you've placed — click it to select and re-drag, resize, or rotate it, or delete it if you placed it by mistake.
- 4 Note: a visual electronic signature (image overlay) and a cryptographic digital signature (PKI certificate) are different things — for legally certified digital signatures, use a dedicated PKI signing service.
